Driving Directions:
From the Detroit Area
Take I-75 north to Grayling, MI exit #254. Follow business route I-75 through Grayling to M-72. Turn left on M-72 and head west to Kalkaska, MI (approximately 25 miles). Turn right onto US-131 and head north through Kalkaska (approximately 2 miles). Turn left onto M-72 and head west to Acme, MI (approximately 17 miles). Turn left at the light (south) onto US-31 and go approximately 3.5 miles to Pinestead Reef. We are located on the beachside of US-31 across from the State Park campground.
From the Grand Rapids/Chicago Area
Construction Advisory: From the Fall of 2009 until May of 2010, US-131 will be closed in both directions just north of Manton, MI for bridge construction. Our recommended route is shown below
Take US-131 north from Grand Rapids to just south of Cadillac, MI and take exit #176 to M-115 West. Head north/northwest on M-115 to Mesick, MI. Take M-37 north to the south side of Traverse City, MI. Turn right onto S. Airport Rd. (the intersection with the Grand Traverse Mall and a Shell gas station) and head east on S. Airport Rd. approximately 5 miles until the road ends at 3 Mile Rd. Turn left on 3 Mile Rd. and go approximately 1 mile until 3 Mile Rd. ends at US-31. Turn right onto US-31 and get in the left lane. Go under the pedestrian overpass bridge and immediately turn left into our parking lot. Pinestead Reef Resort is located on the beachside, directly across from the State Park campground.
